Mary & The Miracle Kittens
Mary never planned to become a foster mom. She loved cats but assumed fostering was for “experienced” people. Then, one rainy afternoon, she got a call from a local shelter—four newborn kittens had been found in a dumpster, cold and motherless. Without immediate care, they wouldn’t survive.
Though she was unsure at first, she agreed to take them in. The next few weeks were a whirlwind of bottle feedings every two hours, sleepless nights, and constant worry. There were moments of doubt—what if she did something wrong? What if they didn’t make it?
But slowly, the kittens began to thrive. She named them Theo, Willow, Jasper, and Luna—four tiny lives that would have been lost if not for her kindness.
“I didn’t realize how much I’d love them,” Mary admitted. “Each time they opened their eyes, learned to walk, or purred for the first time, I felt this overwhelming sense of joy.”
When adoption day came, Mary cried bittersweet tears as she watched her babies go to loving homes.
“It’s never easy to say goodbye,” she told me. “But knowing they’ll live happy, healthy lives because I was there when they needed me? That’s what makes it all worth it.”
Mary has since fostered over 20 kittens, each one a reminder that sometimes, the best things in life happen when we take a leap of faith.
James & The Fearful Feral Who Learned to Love

“He followed me around the house, waited by the door for me to come home,” James shared. “One day, I realized—he wasn’t meant to be adopted by someone else. He was already home.”
Shadow became James’s first foster fail, but certainly not his last. He continues to foster fearful cats, proving that with patience, even the most broken souls can learn to trust again.
Lisa & The Senior Cats Who Still Have Love to Give
While many fosters take in kittens, Lisa has a soft spot for senior cats—especially those left behind after their owners pass away or can no longer care for them.
Senior cats often struggle to find adopters, as many people prefer kittens. But Lisa sees their worth.
One of her most heartwarming fosters was an elderly cat named Mr. Whiskers, a 15-year-old tabby who had lost his owner. In the shelter, he was overlooked time and time again. But when Lisa brought him home, he transformed.
“He just wanted a lap to sit on,” she laughed. “The moment he realized he was safe, he curled up beside me, purring like an engine.”
Lisa has fostered over a dozen senior cats, many of whom have chronic illnesses or need special care. Some only stay with her for a few months before finding a forever home. Others remain with her until the end.
“People think it’s sad to foster a senior cat, knowing their time is limited,” Lisa said. “But to me, there’s nothing more beautiful than giving them love in their final years.”
